Poly(glycolic acid) (PGA) is a biodegradable polyester with high crystallinity, excellent mechanical properties, and hydrolytic degradability.
Due to its excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, Poly(glycolide)s and its copolymers are widely used in degradable medical surgical sutures, drug-controlled release carriers and tissue engineering scaffolds.
